Puffed Quinoa

"Puffing Quinoa" is super easy and a way to consume this rich plant.

  • 1/2 cup of Quinoa

  • 1 Tablespoon of Coconut Oil

  1. Preheat oven to 200 degrees

  2. Rinse uncooked quinoa well - three good rounds moving the quinoa around - making sure there isn't any 'foaming' water. Strain and lay out on a baking sheet.

  3. Place in low over for 10 - 20 minutes allowing the moisture to fully evaporate. Check every 5 minutes or so and break up any clumps that remain.

  4. Melt coconut oil in a cast iron pan with lid

  5. Add the dried quinoa and keep moving the grains around the pan with lid on.

  6. Once the popping starts to slow, you can stop.

  7. Make a batch, eat straight or add to other recipes.
